Insta Aliss_p Hi, I’m Alice! Ex-corporate girl turned salty soul. After 16 years in marketing & communications, I swapped high heels for barefoot and now live full-time on a sailing yacht. Now I’m a 3yrs trusted deckhand on a Oyster72 and I own an Orca43. I’m a certified dive guide, passionate about the sea since birth (thanks Dad!), and in love with Sardinia, sunshine, and spontaneous adventures. Always barefoot, always smiling—ready to lend a hand on deck and share good vibes on board!
We made it to Greece! 🇬🇷⛵️ Crossing from Santa Maria di Leuca wasn’t exactly a smooth ride… 2.5 to 3 meter waves and an average of 25 knots of wind kept us on our toes. We sailed with two reefs in the main and the staysail up… definitely a sporty passage! The original plan was to head straight to Corfù, but we’ve decided to take shelter in Othonoi instead and give ourselves (and the boat!) a well-deserved break. Corfù can wait… we’ll figure it out tomorrow, with calmer seas and a fresh mind.
Here we are… After refueling in Reggio Calabria, we finally reached Puglia! 🇮🇹⛵️ 21 hours of sailing: dolphins at the stern, bioluminescence sparkling in our wake, a sky full of stars, and radar always on during night navigation. Yesterday we also had the chance to visit the Riace Bronzes at the museum in Reggio Calabria…a breathtaking dive into ancient history before returning to sea. We made a quick detour to the “Maldives of Salento” to recharge before continuing our journey toward the Ionian Greece 🇬🇷✨ Last night’s crew: 5 sailors on board, rotating 2-hour shifts, two on duty and then rest.
Today we’re getting ready to cross the Strait of Messina and dock at the port of Reggio Calabria. The wind wasn’t on our side, so we motored through, and hit 13.3 knots in the current (13.9 too, but no photo proof! 😉). The first time I was here, I was on shore attending a dream wedding in a stunning location. Sailing through it now on a boat feels just as magical…and maybe even better! ⛵✨
Our southbound journey continues! Early morning today we set sail towards the stunning Tropea 🌊 Choppy seas today, but nothing we couldn’t handle…we even managed to bake a homemade pizza in the oven! 🍕 As we dropped anchor in Tropea, the sea gifted us a magical surprise: a beautiful sea turtle swam right by our boat. As a dive master with 13 years of experience, I’ve never seen one in the Mediterranean before! 🐢 Next stop: Reggio Calabria, where we’ll welcome back owners and guests before crossing to Greece. Stay tuned! 🇬🇷
After dropping off the owner and guest in Naples and enjoying a delicious pizza with an amazing view of Castel dell’Ovo and Vesuvius, we moved to Nerano to spend the night. The next morning just after lifting anchor… they appeared. A pod of dolphins dancing at our bow — a magical guide into a new day at sea. From Amalfi coast to Palinuro and finally to the wild charm of Dino Island, every mile felt like a gift. Freedom has a sound… it’s the splash of dolphins, the wind in your sails, and your heart beating in sync with the waves. Onward we go. Southbound, salt-kissed, and wide open to wonder. 🐬⛵️
Today’s motto: fun first! A few tacks here and there to reach the Posillipo anchorage just in time for lunch. On the menu: homemade sugo with fresh amberjack pasta!
We left Ponza this morning to reach Ischia. Not the perfect windy day but after a delicious lunch aboard watching Ventotene marvellous coasts we set sail and tried the new code zero of Hakuna Matata!
A dreamy passage that started with a golden sunset and ended under a sky full of stars. ✨ We set sail from Anzio just in time to enjoy a dinner of fresh seafood cruditès while the sun dipped into the horizon, painting the sea in orange and pink. As night fell, we navigated in calm waters looking at the horizon and all the constellations above us. A magical night crossing, and the best kind of welcome to the island.
We’re back at sea! We set sail from Scarlino towards the stunning Isola del Giglio, spending two magical nights at anchor under a sky full of stars. ✨ After a magical sunrise, we’re continuing our journey southbound, cruising all the way to Fiumicino — and tomorrow we will pick up the owners in Anzio and we will go to the amazing Pontine Islands. Salt on our skin, wind in our sails, eyes on the horizon. This sailing season is just getting started…stay tuned!
We moved from Porto Azzurro to Marina di Campo just to bring back the dinghy to fix a valve, but the following days brought us some challenges: generator issues, inverter problems, and unstable forecasts — but with a bit of patience (and tools!), we managed to solve everything while at anchor in Marina di Campo. 💪⛵ Just in time for another weekend cruise with the owners — which ended with a dramatic thunderstorm finale as we reached the safety of the port in Scarlino yesterday after breakfast. ☕️⛈️ Now it’s just the two of us again, getting ready to set sail and continue our southbound adventure… Next stop: Argentario Let’s keep chasing horizons. 💙
We moved from the anchorage in Scarlino to Punta Ala, where we welcomed the owners on board for a fresh fish lunch. After a calm night, we discussed together and decided it was safer for us to sail ahead towards a more sheltered bay, given the strong winds and bad weather forecasted for the coming days. We crossed to Porto Azzurro, on Elba Island, where we found good protection and many other boats already at anchor. Are they here for the same reason, waiting out the weather? Or will they head back to the Tuscan coast before tonight? We’ll see… Oh! And yesterday we had a lovely surprise…a beautiful dog came to visit us on board!
Fixed the fresh water pump with the new expansion tank and set sail to Marina di Scarlino. Tomorrow morning we will have owners onboard for the weekend✨
Today we woke up with the technicians on board to fix the watermaker. We started our trip around 5 PM and, after a magical sunset, we will spend the night at anchor under the stars. Getting ready to welcome the owners on Saturday!
From our home port La Spezia to Rosignano (Tuscany) Where we got married 9 months ago ☺️ Update: My day started at 7:30 am and now, almost 3:00 am, we are finally back home... After docking at the port and washing the boat, we went to our place (Astragalo) to celebrate with a super dinner in our "ceremony dresses" at 10 pm! On the way back to our dinghy, we were drawn by some nearby music and decided to follow it… and guess what? It turned into an epic night! ✨ Just a reminder: always follow your belly 💕
This weekend we cruised with the owners around the beautiful Cinque Terre and Portofino. Not much wind to play with, but plenty of fresh seafood to keep the guest and crew happy! Great vibes, stunning views, and delicious moments shared on board. Sometimes slow sailing makes for the best stories.
What a weekend! We set off from Piombino with our sails wide open, chasing the breeze all the way to Elba. Perfect wind and that sweet feeling of freedom you only get at sea. We spent the night moored in the cozy harbour of Porto Azzurro, sharing stories, laughs on board under the stars. Sailing with friends — this is what life’s all about.
Sharing the incredible track of our summer season as crew, starting from Palma de Mallorca to Valencia for shipyard works, and then cruising with owners and guests to explore the stunning Balearic Islands — Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca, and Menorca. We faced it all: crystal-clear waters, epic sailing days, unforgettable sunsets, playful dolphins, and even a serious summer storm in August 2024, which we managed to handle with pride and teamwork. After an intense 30-hour offshore passage, we made landfall in Sardinia, continued along the beautiful coasts of Tuscany, and finally reached our home port in Liguria. Somewhere along the way, we even squeezed in our wedding in Tuscany — a season filled with true emotions both on and off the water. Grateful for the journey, the challenges, and the unforgettable memories with this amazing crew. Fair winds to all!
Looking back at one of the most unforgettable chapters of summer 2023, spent as crew on an incredible journey through the minor islands of the Mediterranean. We departed from La Spezia, sailing south and discovering the beauty of Capraia, Elba, the Pontine Islands, Ischia, Procida, Capri, and finally reaching the magical Aeolian Islands. One of the most breathtaking moments? A night passage under a sky filled with stars so bright they seemed within reach, while in the distance, Stromboli’s eruptions lit up the horizon like a natural lighthouse — pure awe, pure sea life. On our way back, we hugged the Amalfi Coast, sailing past its postcard-perfect cliffs and villages, collecting memories of crystal anchorages, fresh local dishes, and shared adventures with an amazing crew. The sea gives you everything — challenge, beauty, peace, and adrenaline — and this season gave us all of that, and more.
