Ace's Dream
Kenosha WI
10-years USN, 30+ Electronics Technology, Engineering, and R&D. I know which end of the hammer to hold in order to whack in a screw. Always dreamed of being a liveaboard and opening a TV repair shop... At 55+ I thought sailing was a pipe dream until we bought our C36-MK1! Good things do happen!!
Harrison took the helm as Skipper on Ace's Dream splash day... Winds too light to tune the mast, but the shakedown went well! We didn't crash through the main deck so the winter was not wasted and her owner was happy!! Thanks for the pix @onemodelcitizen, the last one is for you π The group towards shore are the tin (beer) can racers on their first practice for the season... Happy New Year folks! We all realized that the wind Gods are sleeping on Thursday nights, again, this year π€£
12-14kt NE. Wing/wing last leg West of sea wall.
He snuck off in the fog without me! I need to get him on SeaPeople!! They say the pix were amazing... Today was 12-26kt S turning SW. Single reef and 4.7kn max. Took it easy and short with storms approaching. Happy New Year Olivia! π Your first sail of 2025 π₯°
Hope you never need this... https://boatwatch.org/ But since every link in communication on the water is important, please bookmark the site and keep watch in your cruising area. This network was started by Hams (amateur radio operators) helping boaters... I'm also a Ham (N9VEG) and, although not affiliated with them, very supportive of their mission. Launched 28th of March but lost time with a finicky auxiliary and other delays. Today was the first shakedown and evening sail after work... Beautiful but chilly on the lake. 12 rising to 18kt SE sustained with 20+ gusts... 3-6' made it choppy going S. Sailing up the channel and back is always a hoOt!
