Back in Australia going for a romp in my mates new cray boat for a spearo trip in Abrolhos West Aus 8 dudes First for me haha Let’s go!!!!
When you get juicy 15 knots from behind you better appreciate it. Such a beautiful sail
We take our Highfield tenders further and farther than most Tackling waves for epic dives! And today?!? It’s the mola mola An enormous sight to behold!
We made it to Amed Bali! And the end of this leg of the journey. It’s time for a crew change and a couple days in between trips! If you’ve never been Amed is a dream, small town at the base of a volcano with a large Freediver and scuba enthusiast visitors. Black sand beaches and just gorgeous
On a mission to get to bali we pushed through the north end of Java. Fueled up with 6,000L of diesel which hurt the wallet. But the boys from coast guard helped. Said goodbye to some crew & went under our first bridge with the new boat.
Have you heard of Krakatoa the volcano that exploded in South Sumatra 100+ years ago killing over 30,000 people with the blast and resulting tsunami? 🌊 The blast could be heard 1/3 way around the world. Well here we are hiking to the top of what is known as the son of Krakatoa. This island raised up in the center of the old volcano 🌋 It’s still a very active volcanic area. I love these kind of beautiful anchorages.
Sooo we are 2-3 weeks late Story of my life The trade winds have set in and it’s become a fight against the wind and the current A smarter sailor would turn around and just head to Africa But we have our other vessel to meet up with. Sooo we will take the flogging 😒 But hey…. Look at this fire 🔥 gotta love these remote anchorages
Very enjoyable jaunt down the islands. Slowly making our way towards Bali Raced into this beautiful village for some sunset wakeboarding!
Chill motor across to our own private wave! Loving Mentawais!
We did our very first equator crossing! King Neptune showed up for some debochery and the trip ended with a couple days visiting the Mentawai tribe and much of our crew leaving 😭
We stopped into Alofi and heard some music little did we know a surf comp was going on! Such an awesome local vibe with some of the friendliest people we’ve ever encountered. Continued on to Siberut Mentawai islands!
3 days, many storms, lots of lightning, too much wind, then no wind. Lots of snoozes but when we go there paradise!!! Gorgeous little private island in the mangroves
3 days of lightning storms, squalls, motoring & card games. Lightning 🌩️ was pretty terrifying at times. Good to get the new crew broken in. Check into indo was a breeze.
First time putting our new sails up! It was glorious A quick stop to Koh lipe to get some pad Thai and provision veggies and continue on.
A month long Latina invasion! Sooo much reggaeton 🔊 We saw too many whales to count 🐋, more mantas than I’ve ever seen & some heart warming interactions with sea lions 🦭Everything broke, we fixed it 🛠️💪and couldn’t of cared less. Such an awesome trip!
Our first trip with the new boat! The Bad: The 5 day trip that turned into 18 days because we got caught up in Thailand\Malaysia customs hell! 🔥🔥🔥 Watch the track, you’ll laugh 😂 Lesson learned get an agent & don’t tell the truth. The Good: Bina & Madi did their open water scuba course with instructor Amy. 🧜♀️🧜♀️ Koh Lipe is a dream Lots of wakeboarding & being naughty in Thailand 😈
