Nautilus II
Southport Queensland
I have sailed all my life, starting with off the beach boats, windsurfing/kite surfing and then coastal and off shore sailing. My sailing adventures mainly include family and good friends and we enjoy making good memories on the water surrounded by our beautiful water world. In 2023 we sailed our boat Nautilus II to New Caledonia and Vanuatu from the Gold Coast Australia

Up with sun again this morning. With a blow forecast for the next few days we have taken the opportunity to pull into Mackay marina and provision etc
A tidal place but worth it as the whales 🐋 seem to love it around here. Our whale tally for the day is 20
Not sure what is going on with the 10 whales we saw today were going south? Go figure I thought they were supposed to be heading north still. Mostly adult pairs we saw today 🐋
A light day some code O and some motor sailing then just motoring but beautiful all the way ⛵️🏴☠️
Leaving the marina across the shallows so we are setting ourselves up for tides to head off early tomorrow…
The breeze kept building as we went, a few ships and tugs to keep clear of today
Early to start early to finish seems to be the sailors’ way. Actually we were not as early as some, no surprises there 😴
A lovely 10-15 knots with calm seas a little overcast and the Marina has kindly given us on outside finger which has made it another good landing
Taking on a little roll for a few hours tonight to save travel time to Bundaberg Marina tomorrow. Not as bad as we thought here 👌
Love a smooth passage through the bar with a few of our friendly manta rays …
Loving the off shore breeze for flat water - perfect for catamaran sailing today 👌
Such a lovely day of sailing and calm seas we pushed on to Noosa and anchored offshore for a shorter sail tomorrow. Also our first whale sighting 🐋
Saw dolphins and some military boats anchored off the lovely beach here
Beautiful day on Moreton bay and love the serenity with the parasail up 👌⛵️⛵️🥂
Well it’s been some time and running aground at low tide has not happened to us in quite a while, it’s quite humbling to put the anchor down and wait for the water to come back in. Probably a good reminder to watch those tide numbers more at the beginning of our trip ..
