I left Jack London Marina and cruised over to Clipper Cove on Treasure Island for a few days. Jack London area was pretty cool, but the occasional ferry operator who would come in steaming hot, bringing a 4' wake was not. I was really glad to get away from the dangers of being tied up to something hard and be back on the hook. No treasure on treasure Island... It's a dump, but it will do for now while I wait a couple days for my haul out later this week. People were probably thinking I'm nuts for anchoring in the middle of the cove where there is no wind protection. Truth is, I have two Eclectic D400 wind generators and they can't do their job without that strong breeze flowing through them. Time will tell, but let's see if this will be the smoothest anchorage in the Bay!

Had an amazing day with some of my Cali family, taking a lap of the bay. Perfect weather, sunny and some wind to make it interesting. Leaving the Oakland harbor we had only about 10 kts and as soon as we crossed the bay bridge it quickly picked up to 26kts+. Thank goodness I was super reefed because we were rolling with a toddler and an older aunt on board. We stopped at the Giants game to catch the last few innings to wrap up the day before heading back to Oakland.

Not much to report: sunshine, 15kt breeze, and no one in the China Bay Anchorage. Time to go explore this island I've never heard of!

The weather window to push south opened up and my father and I seized that opportunity. Probably one of our easiest, most chill sails to date. Light breeze, picked up to 26 kts here and there but overall pretty easy going. The swell was about 7'-10' at times but Way Maker just chugs along like it's no one's business. Lesson learned, don't tie off your best rod and reel to the rod holder... Tuna will rip that off like if it were made out of twigs. While in Bay, we are going to do a quick haul out to swap the lower end on the sail drive and other small maintenance tasks before pushing on down towards the Sea of Cortez.

It's that time to leave the protection of Roche Harbor and start working west to get in a better position to push south to San Francisco. The day started off with a light breeze and rain and finished with sunshine and lake like conditions. The plan is to wait a few days here at Port Angeles.

Super weird push from Port Ludlow to Friday Harbor on 9 August. The day started off ☀️ and no wind, progressed to 🌬️ and then a dense fog to shake things up a bit (Great opportunity to ensure the radar is working). Once we emerged from the fog, we were right on top of the beautiful San Juans.

We have finally set sail again to continue the adventure of sailing as far as we can. Departed the beautiful Gig Harbor which has been Way Maker's home for the past year and a half and worked our way north up the Puget Sound to Port Ludlow. The plan is to cruise the San Juan Islands till a great weather window opens up to sail south to San Francisco.

Started off as a beautiful and calm day and then quickly ramped up to 17 kts TWS! Motor off and sails out. Busted out some new sailing gear I haven't tested out yet like a freshly modified stay sail and boom brake.

Started the day off with 10kts steady breeze with a day of sunshine poking through here and there. 50° felt like 70° today!
