Amazing experience So many monkeys

200+ nautical miles, countless midday naps, endless servings of nutella, absolutely 0 pairs of pants, 2 gnarly colds … and i’ve sailed to a new country with a crew of 3 badass pirates! ⚓️⛵️🤙🏻

Left Crystal River this morning at first light. Still having trouble with the starboard tank. Ran off of the left the entire time and had to fill up in Madeira Beach. Waited out a little rain at Sea Dogs Brewery for lunch. Going to hang at Harborage Marina for a couple weeks to troubleshoot and improve a few things. Saying Bon Voyage to Jackson on Monday who heads out on his own adventure in the Philippines with Expedition Drenched!

We arrived to Crystal River with no joke at lease 40 other boats. Cannot wait to get out of civilization. Excellent predictable day except Boba getting under the front floor bilge area. Pulling him out while in a light head sea was pretty traumatic for him. Adding cats secure to future checklist. We also say an impressive waterspout en route.

The boat and prop performed perfectly today. Averaged 15kts over 5 hours. Our first official crossing of the trip. Still looks like the Gulf of Mexico to me.

Looks like we even have a swimming pool.

Had a pretty fantastic popup early this morning. We made it to a little marina and battened down the hatches :).

Easy 35 mile run. Forgot to start my track. We departed from Eagle Cove.

Easy day to Port St Joe. Slips are expensive but the amenities are nice. Looking forward to grabbing some food and picking up transmission fluid.

Successful trip to Panama City Beach. We installed the propeller with a quick turn haul out. We had such a great anchorage last night.

This place is really homey, old Florida vibe. Large shade trees. Prices are reasonable. Looking forward to a few relaxing days here.

After some seriously wet days in Fairhope, AL. with no cover, we are drying out with a covered slip in Orange Beach. It’s quite beautiful and having the shade and shelter feels like a luxury. We are also working through some fuel delivery issues in the starboard tank. We did get a low pressure indicator on the engine and were feeding from the starboard tank. The engine didn’t stop, but we definitely need to figure this out before any serious crossings.

What a day. About to eat a lot and recoup for tomorrow. We all need RnR.

Long crazy day. We hit 5 locks, had a barge escort us around a dredge, dodged a flotilla of logs and had to clear our strainer to avoid an overheating engine. We decided to anchor tonight just outside of town off the river. Oh and soaking up some free amps from that free nuclear fission reactor!

Our fuel filters picked up quite a bit of debris from these old tanks today. Everything worked as it was supposed to. We emptied the primary filters of quite a bit of sludge and the secondary water filter had a pretty good amount of emulsified water. Once cleaned everything ran as expected again. No covered slip today but weather is supposed to be good for the next few days and we have a killer breeze.
