Our last sail in the Bahamas for the season 😢. Back to the USA….what’s the import duty on leftover Kaliks?
Little sail from Hopetown to Manjack. We tried to pickup our Amazon packages from Jeff’s boat, he wasn’t impressed.
Mostly wind from behind the beam from 10-30knots. Daily mileage: 243, 236, 226. Top speed 22knots (surfing) The elusive 300mi day evaded us as we lost a spin halyard on day 1 and slowed the boat on day 3 to avoid nighttime arrival of a sketchy inlet in large swell. Trip Bonus: Full moon (when there wasn’t cloud cover) and Space X launch off Cape Canaveral.
Bit sporty on the Chesapeake today with NW winds 20-25 gusting to 30. Top boat speed 20+ knots
Just a light chop 😜
What a long strange trip it’s been.
Tacking in short steep wind waves. Crew was not feeling it.
Light wind sailing (motored for a few hours when the wind got light and shifty) from Great Sale Cay to West Palm Beach. 7-11 Monterey Jack taquitos and coors banquet for dinner anyone?
Started off nice and powered up with winds in the upper teens and wind forward of the beam. The wind slowly died and moved aft. Ghosted into the anchorage in 6 knots of wind. Overall a nice sail and one of last in the Bahamas this season.
Forgot to hit stop recording, so average speed was a bit lower than actual😆. Mostly doing 8 knots in 10 knots at 140 true. Main and screecher. Spinnaker would have been faster, but needed to dry the laminate sail as it was sitting in a wet bag on the tramp after all this rain.
