At the beginning of May we have to be near Montpellier. So with wind from the right direction we took the opportunity to sail to the Spanish mainland. Found a pretty anchorage.
A peaceful sail on a cloudy day with little wind.
Our longest passage yet just the two of us. Almost 400 nm in 50 h. We started in very light wind but after half a day the wind picked up and brought us to our destination quickly. We are looking forward to relaxing and spending some time on the Balearic Islands. đĽžđď¸
Upwind sail from 2 reefs in the main to code 0 conditions.
We woke up excited this morning to pass the Strait of Gibraltar. We started with very little wind and 2 knots of boat speed. Luckely the wind picked up later and we had a nice sail to Gibraltar. Hiked up the mountain to see the apes and sunset.
First 4h of motoring and then a very light wind sail to get us closer to the street of Gibraltar. Luckely no encounter with orcas.
today we got plenty of salt and fresh water showers.

To avoid any encounters with Orcas we tried to sail in shallow waters around 20 Meters.

Never thought we would use our lovely Code D almost every day.
We really enjoyed our ride after being stuck in the marina for 8 days.

After 19 hours of motoring because of barely any wind, we had two great sailing days. We had the Code D (downwind gennaker) up most of the time and from time to time we heard our crew member at the helm cheering when we were surfing down a wave reaching a top speed of up to 18 knots đ¤ŠNow we just woke up after a very calm night at anchor in the bay of Cedeira.
Left the GlĂŠnan islands by sunrise. Upwind sailing to Belle-Ăle with TWS around 15 knots. Took a refreshing bath in the sea. Winter in Bretagne isnât that bad đ Empty bays everywhere.
Super comfy sailing with our beautiful Code D. Almost no waves and 15 knots of wind. đŹď¸ Letâs hope we have enough water under the bows when low tide is coming in the middle of the night đđ.
