Cruise down to Tahiti beach and then back to boat harbor.

Awesome sail accompanied by friends this time back to Auckland. It was a gentle cruise, we've been blessed with incredibly warm early-autumn weather. My crew mates Janine and Mark brought along incredible organic sustenance for everyone to share and enjoy. By far, the best boat snacks we've had onboard so far. My best friend Sammy's first time sailing with us, she's been overseas for a few months so it was lovely to catch up with her again. She's just a baby, as you can see, a kids size lifejacket at 33 years old is fitting her perfectly. Arrived to Auckland sooner than expected, we predicted lighter winds than in reality. Happy crew, happy skipper.

Speedy as hell!!! With just the gib up! Sea's touching the sail! Was having such a blast getting here that day... man, that was fun. Arrived way sooner than expected. But then. REALLY struggled to get back on the mooring with the wind and current against us. Lost my boat hook on 3rd attempt... attempted to get boathook back.... fell into the soup. Nearly got it back but lost it. Attempted mooring again from dingy. Lost it. Very sore arms. Lessons, just more Lessons. I exhausted myself and anchored nearby for the night instead. I fucked up my ankle pulling myself up from the dingy. I wonder if anyone out there watched me fail so miserably 🤣 A friend came out and helped me get back on the next afternoon. I have a new boat hook and a GPIRB now 🤦‍♀️

My friend Holly invited me to meet her bestie and her man at Rakino. Ivor and I solo'ed over yesterday afternoon, relaxed as hell and arriving before sunset. Anchored next to her man's Beneteau Oceanis for the night in Woody Bay. Indulged in some good banter, sessions and a delicious BBQ provided by simply awesome people. Thanks for the invite babe!! Looking forward to join the crew sometime soon ♡

I woke up feeling energized and ready to conquer the day yesterday. The blue skies and light to moderate south-eastern winds tempted me to call for an adventure. Inviting three local lads to join me for a cruise, the crew made light work, with peaceful and smooth sailing. It was only a little loop, but we still made the most of paradise. The journey made for a very happy crew as we hydrated with a couple of safe beers and ciders with a fishing line cast over the side.

My friend, neighbor, and engineer at the marina decided to join us for our trip to Waiheke this weekend. His apprentice, Holly, had been convoying behind us on another neighbor's yacht but got left behind with engine problems. Gutted! We had the wind blowing on our side, the sun popping in-and-out from behind the clouds and the chief fully in the zone. Sorry Holly, next time ♡ Perfect sail day, one of the best ones yet for the whole crew!

Yesterday, my amazing usual crew helped me move my darling Nomadica to Auckland, near Westhaven. Dreams of home-sweet-home is becoming a reality! Well, it's not exactly what I expected to do with her but I am happy about the decision and already beginning to see Auckland Central City in a completely different perspective as a seasoul. The future holds incredible wholesome opportunities to explore with new and old friends around this region, build my sailing confidence with guidance from experienced sailors over the next few months, as well as get actual work done more easliy with her on berth. She's going to be my luxurious nomadic castle of the ocean, my masterpiece, taking all my time and effort, giving me purpose, direction and hope.

Assisting Captian Charlie with a mission to reposition little Angel from the Westhaven Marina to a Sandpit mooring. It was a slow cruise and we arrived in the first hour of the morning, pitch dark. Figured out the tracker on this app assumes your location when your phone screen times-out, that's annoying... battery saving is a serious thing on trips like these - Angel's battery is resting in peace atm (dead). We made do with the sails, the tender towing us when needed, and a single headlight. Passed out on the couch on arrival and hit the road back to my minivan in Auckland this morning.
