Hey there! We’re Max (the bearded sailor), Barbara (the blond boss) and Vlad (the angry cat)! Once upon a time, we wore suits and sat in offices in Italy... Today, we live full-time aboard our sailboat SV Goat, chasing sunsets, storms, and a life of adventure around the world. We’re not influencers — we’re just two dreamers with salt in our hair, wind in our faces, and a camera to share it all! Join us as we laugh, cry, fix broken stuff, and sail to wherever the wind (or engine) takes us. Find us on YouTube: @sv_goat and Instagram: @sailing_svgoat See you out there, salty souls!
We just left the wild anchorages of the Sporades and sailed into… a 5-star resort marina 😲 Suddenly we’re neighbors with luxury yachts — and we’re here for a weeks to get our PADI diving certification! 🤿⛵ From salt crusted decks to spa vibes… this adventure keeps surprising us.🤩
We left a stunning bay — crystal clear water, dream vibes — but battered by constant swell. We thought: “Let’s go rest in Skopelos port.” Well… surprise! 🚢 Ferry swell shaking the whole marina. 💨 Maltemi blowing like crazy. 🫣 Charter boats dragging anchors like there’s no tomorrow. 💪 We ended up helping others re-anchor instead of relaxing. Welcome to the "easy sailing life" everyone dreams of 😅 But hey — that’s what makes this adventure real. Unpredictable, wild… and unforgettable. 📍More chaos and beauty coming soon on our YouTube: [@sv_goat]
We just left the calm of Orei and are now crossing toward the wild beauty of the Sporades islands. No marinas. No comfort. Just us, the wind, and the sea. It’s moments like these that remind us why we left everything behind in Italy. 📍Stay tuned to see what happens when we drop anchor in the middle of nowhere. 📸 Real life. No filters. Just the sailing life we always dreamed of. 👉 Follow our journey here and on YouTube: [@sv_goat]
We crossed the famous Chalkida Bridge at night, battling strong currents and the unpredictable Euripus tide 🌘🌊 It felt like sailing into a raging river… but we made it through 💪 Final stop at Loutra Edipsou — natural hot showers and thermal pools right in the sea. Hot water flowing from the rocks, warm steam rising under the stars… pure magic
We’ve just entered the Gulf and were immediately greeted by strong katabatic winds—shifting, unpredictable, and coming from every direction. Nature’s way of reminding us who's in charge. Let the adventure begin!💪🇬🇷
Heading north with slow wind and a beautiful sunrise.
This week we sailed from the peaceful island of Poros to the majestic Cape Sounio, home of the Temple of Poseidon. But it wasn’t just any sail – we turned it into a mini regatta with a lovely couple of friends! Wind in our sails, laughter in the air, and a little race to the god of the sea himself. It’s not always about the destination… but let’s be honest, when the destination is Poseidon’s temple, it’s pretty epic
We’ve just arrived in Poros, Greece! 🌊⛵️ What was meant to be a short stop turned into a full week due to a strong meltemi blowing over 40 knots for five days straight 💨😳 But every challenge is an opportunity at sea… and this island surprised us in the best way. Poros is absolutely charming, quiet anchorages, delicious food, and the kindest people. 🏝️💙 Sometimes the weather writes the story… and this one turned out beautifully.
From Athens to the Saronic islands: what a ride! ⛵️💨 The wind? Non-stop. The reward? Totally worth it: crystal-clear turquoise waters and… PEACOCKS. Yep, real ones. Everywhere. 🦚
After months of sailing, we’ve finally entered the mighty Aegean Sea! 💙 The meltemi gave us a proper (and windy 💨) welcome, let’s just say our sails got quite the workout 😅. We’re now heading toward the city that completely stole our hearts: Athens 🇬🇷✨ Ancient ruins, warm people, incredible food…
We did it! Crossed the legendary Corinth Canal and officially made it to the Aegean Sea 🎉 The canal was narrow, epic, and gave us goosebumps (and maybe a few heart palpitations 😅). Now it's time for turquoise waters, strong meltemi winds, and feta overdose 🧀💨 From the Ionian to the Aegean – SV Goat keeps pushing east, one adventure at a time. Fair winds, Sea People! 🐐🌊🇬🇷
We’ve officially left the Ionian behind and are making our way toward the Aegean! First stop: the Gulf of Patras, where Poseidon decided to test our nerves with some wild and unpredictable winds 💨🌊 Sailing under the incredible Rion-Antirion bridge felt like entering another chapter of our journey, epic, slightly chaotic, and 100% real-life adventure! 🚧✨ We stopped at the tiny island of Trizonia to catch our breath and get ready for the legendary Corinth Canal crossing in the next few days... but not before losing our solar panels to the wind gods 😅⚡️(yes, it happened!)
After months of adventures, repairs and a few too many pasta nights, we're finally back where it all started.. the beautiful Ionian Sea! The Ionian still feels like home, warm water, messy anchorages, and that perfect chaos we love. We’ll be here for a week, waiting for some friends to join us.. so if you see Goat around, come say hi! 👋 Same boat, same us (just a bit more salty), happy to be back in this blue wonderland. #sailinggoat #backtotheionian #seapeople #sailinglife #sailingaway #greece #sailinglovers
From Brindisi to Preveza in February 2025.
From May to September last year, we set sail on our first real adventure — a journey that took us over 1,000 nautical miles! It was a season full of "firsts": first night watches, first storms, first anchor drags... and first sunsets that left us speechless. Every mile taught us something new, and every mistake turned into a great story (and usually a good laugh later!). We’re still learning, still dreaming, and still loving every second of this crazy life at sea. Here's to many more miles, new friends, and unforgettable moments! Fair winds everyone!
