Yabá

Navegantes

Hi! We are Ben & MP! We’ve been rebuilding our huge wooden boat for 4 years and now we are finally ready to start sailing. Do we know what we are doing? Nope. That’s exactly why we bought a sinking boat to start with. But we are living and learning through our mistakes. What are we fucking up next? Can’t wait to find out!

Exactly one year ago, Yabá was sliding her bottom to the river that was the landscape of her rebuild during 3.5 years. The day we had worked for, hoped for, and imagined over and over again turned out even better than we could have dreamed. Our family was there, and to our surprise, they brought a crowd of friends to celebrate and cheer as Yabá finally splashed. A day filled with many emotions, from fear, to excitement, to relief and mostly an overwhelming joy! From the moment Yabá arrived at the yard, launching her back to the sea was our ultimate goal (and you’ve witnessed the mountains we had to climb to make it happen). Looking back, it’s still surreal. We never saw ourselves as the kind of people who would take on such a challenge, but we also never imagined owning a boat as incredible as Yabá has become. She’s more beautiful than we ever envisioned, and life aboard her brings us more happiness than we thought possible. We get to live the life we always dreamed of but even better than that, we get to share this life with our loved ones. Yabá is always full of life, family, friends, and laughter is probably the noise she hears the most. Considering how this journey began, we couldn’t have wished for a better outcome. We’ve said it a thousand times, but it will never feel like enough: THANK YOU. This wouldn’t have been possible without you. Between the highs and lows, our journey was filled with support, encouragement, and an insane amount of generosity that we will never forget. Today, we’re pinching ourselves, reminding each other that this is real life. With full hearts and teary eyes, we raise a glass, not just to Yabá, but to every single one of you. 🤍 Cheers!
