This morning started out very scary and rattling. Around 7am we began pulling up the anchor. I was at the helm keeping the boat straight as Pete manually lifted the anchor. Hands were wet and it was cold. After a bit, Pete was able to pull the anchor up by hand. After, his hands were throbbing and he went down below to warm them up. Fast breathing and he kept saying he was going to pass out. A few moments went by and he passed out, out cold. Freaking out, I yell to him. Still aiming the boat to get out traffic. He’s still out. I idle the boat, and one more time yell to him. My plan was to cut the engine and radio for help. He woke up, sat up, relaxed and was okay. He had water and some food as we slowly made our way out. He knew this was happening as this has happened to him before. He took over and ended up having uneventful rest of the day motoring south. We made friends with another boat, Neem. They too are heading down south and we exchanged contact info and plans for the same anchorage area tonight. Found a beautiful and peaceful anchorage tonight!
