Another "fun" trip. It was a pleasant start, with relatively flat seas and calm winds, and even a dolphin sighting to get us off to the right start! But the tables turned when the wind died off and it turned out our engine troubles weren't as resolved as we initially thought. This time, Sudana would only run for around 30-40 minutes before dying, but weirdly didn't need as long to recover between stints of action. We did decide that it's likely a fuel tank issue, possibly something to do with the tap being clogged. So that'll be a fun mission while we're in Lossiemouth - and we were so optimistic that we were done with this!! On the bright side, we discovered that our dinghy outboard will push us along at around 2kts 😂 And the wind finally picked up about a mile off the harbour entrance, so we were able to whizz in at 5kts, which was lucky, as the extra speed managed to get us in and to a berth with seconds to spare before the engine died... We even heard it give out as we tied our final line - what luck! So, more engine work to be done, but at least we're safe and sound in the marina. And I've been reliably informed that there is a washing machine here, so we can get through another mountain of laundry. No rest for these sailing nomads yet!
