Craobh to Crinan

We umm-ed and ahhh-ed a few times about which tide to catch to Crinan, knowing there are some weird eddies, strong currents, and less than ideal winds on the route. We were planning on leaving last night to approach at the midnight slack tide, but a foreboding mood surrounding the marina made us second guess that choice and decide to leave at 5am. It was an absolutely beautiful early morning with a full moon and plenty of stars before the sun started to rise around an hour into the passage. Some strong gusts threw us around a bit, but we were able to sail or motor-sail most of the way - which was nice! Tying up in the lock was a bit of a challenge as we'd arrived before the lock keepers, but thankfully some early morning walkers were able to grab a line for us and help us get secured (thanks, strangers!) Can't decide between a nap or breakfast right now 😅 But at least we have nothing to do but wait now until the lock opens at 9:30am.
