Fog, fog and little wind

After a few days of being weathered-in at Southport—where winter apparently means the entire town goes into hibernation—we’re back on the move south, inching closer to the Bahamas. Today’s journey featured a thrilling episode of Motoring Through the Fog, since the wind decided to take the day off. Southport, which I imagine is hopping in the summer, looked more like a ghost town in the off-season. Empty streets, lights out early, and a general vibe of “see you in May.” Still, we caught the tail end of a holiday parade and managed to sniff out some good food—so no complaints. Harper (our furry first mate) was the happiest of all, loving her freedom off-leash and finally getting a break from boat life.
