Today was a push! We weren’t sure if we’d make it to isle of palms and we barely did. We had a great current all day with the exception where a few inlets intersected. We let out the jib all day and hit hull speed a few times 😱 We were racing to get in before dark and it was questionable all day. But we wanted to try anyway. As we had most of the sail up and the current with an hour left we noticed darkness behind us and to our right. We didn’t see rain in the forecast? But definitely was a storm cloud in the distance. The knots kept picking up and we decided to pull in the jib significantly to avoid hitting a squall. Minutes later, that’s exactly what happened and we were so relieved we pulled in. It got darker and it started to drizzle and we had about 3 miles to go. With the jib mostly in we were still going to 6 knots As we pulled to the dock we had the wind at our back and the current. So Pete turned the boat to switch our approach and slow us down. Deck hands helped us out and tucked right in. Barely a sliver of light left, we just made it🥹 Hopefully surf tomorrow!!
