Made it safe and sound to Eureka Humboldt Bay. It's not exactly Hawaii, but at least safe and sound and will make repairs to the autopilot here. Amazingly. I have a good friend here who is able to loan me a car, a place to sleep, a hot shower and that is going to help immensely. Going to be a lot of work over the next few days to install a completely new ram, but I have a plan so that's all you can hope for and make the best of it and we'll see what happens when I get everything put together. Boats and plans don't always work out the way you expect them.

Been literally rolling a long all night. Relentless swell here on the northern California Coast. Another few hours and I get to see what the bar at Humboldt Bay looks like, or maybe not if it's foggy. Hope to update on the other side safely docked.

I'm still making my way to Eureka aka Humboldt Bay. Have another 14 to 16 hours of motoring to do in some nasty short period swell. Tracker shows me stopped at shore somewhere but that's not the case.

Motoring in sun and recently calmer conditions towards Eureka. Auto still going and it is liking the calmer seas and motoring over sailing. Just needs to last 2 more days. Parts on the way to Eureka where I get to be a boat fixer, again.😁

Auto pilot ram making ominous sounds. Made the decision to head back to nearest port to try to fix. May or not be able to continue the quest.

Exciting night. Autopilot disengaged and boat tacked while I was asleep. Nice one. Discovered it was also raining. Also nice. Sorted it all out, ate some cereal and checked Predict Wind again. Only forecast that matches conditions I'm in so far is the GFS so switching to that course. Not sure what time zone I'm in @ 127W. Boat is still on PDT.

Grey sky today but sunset last night was nice. Surrounded by a pod of Orcas yesterday afternoon. Close reaching for at least another day in about 10 knots doing 6 to 7 over the ground.

Wind is not as forecast. Surprise. South is the direction I can make progress. West is in the swell and in the light breeze it stops the boat.

Kinda rolly and light air in West entrance of Juan de Fuca. Love saying that one. Motor sailing to my Predict Wind course starting point. Hope the wind fills in by then. No sun so Starlink goes when the engine does. Update tomorrow.
