Antigua and Barbuda

Feb 11, 2025 - Mar 3, 2025

Left Lanzarote 11th of Feb and arrived in Antigua 3rd of March. A super pleasant crossing that obviously wasn’t without its difficulties and hard moments. We got pleasant weather, we completed DIY boat projects, read, did art, did workouts, made jewellery and plenty more. We did however have consistent waves of an average of 4m, we had 7 intense days in “squall territory” which were testing. A few days in we lost the ability to use the Code Zero sail because its lashing was cut, and the sail wasn’t being held down. Then with 6 days to go, we lost the use of the genoa sail when the shackle holding it up gave way because of the squalls— meaning this sail wasnt being held up. Our Fischer Panda generator also stopped working after running for 50 hours and our AIS also gave up a few days in 😓 But what’s important is we arrived safe and sound, we saw several pods of dolphins throughout, which exclusively only came to meet us at sunset, we saw orcas and upon arrival to Antigua we spotted a whale and were met with an incredible rainbow. The customs desk was closed by the time we arrived so we anchored for the night, ready to explore tomorrow. AND HAVE A PROPER SHOWER. 😅
