False alarm!

Good news and bad news today. Had a smokey/burning style smell happening from engine area .. after checking everything over, nothing was evident.. decided to pull up to next marina and have a tech take a look just to be safe. We’re super fortunate to have stumbled upon Zimmermans .. an employee owned full service marina located in Holden Beach, NC. At first glance they said it was fine and couldn’t find anything wrong. Ended up staying the night.. Next morning ran engine a bit before leaving and had more smoke. Tech came back promptly .. Good news is that it was simply a bad hose leading to our raw water strainer which caused a slight leak in suction. Fortunately the heat exchange was still being supplied water, just not at the level it wanted. Ended up replacing the hoses and upgrading the raw water strainer as well. Staying at marina another day to test run engine but seems we will be back on track in the morning.
