Shewwww it’s been windy. Not stopping us though! The beauty of being on the leeward side of a blow. Cruised from Government Habour down to Rock Sound today to stage for our crossing to the Exumas (Wednesday?) Double reefed main and 75% jib most of the day and we were still cooking at 7kn and even hit 8 in some gusts. Really wanted to put a line out but didn’t want to have to slow the boat down if we hooked up to something. Clocked a 30kn gust close to rounding the point into the sound, tried to tack, but ended up too close to the wind and had to beat into it with the engines for the final 20min. Super fun sail and still had time to do laundry in town!
