Just when you think it’s going to be one of those perfect champagne sailing days, reality checks in with a slow leak in one of the thru-hulls. So, down come the sails, and out comes the 4200—a sailor’s version of duct tape and prayer. Thirty minutes of boat yoga later (because who doesn’t love contorting in tight spaces while trying not to drop tools into the bilge?), we’re motoring along, letting the 4200 cure like it’s some artisanal soufflé. Tonight at anchor, I’ll finish the fix, hopefully without discovering another surprise problem. Fingers crossed tomorrow brings the same beautiful conditions—and no new leaks—so we can actually sail and maybe even squeeze in a little Sunday serenity on a Wednesday.
