Inverness to Seaport (Caledonian Canals Day One)

We were meant to start our trip down the Caledonian Canals yesterday, but some big weather and the fact that we were exhausted after a busy weekend meant we decided it would be better to wait a day. And boy, were we right! Even with much lighter winds, far more well rested, and a slight delay to the bridge opening times (outside our control), it was pretty "spicy" crossing from Inverness to the entrance to the Canals, and that first lock was definitely a challenge with all the bouncing around 😂 We did feel very pro though, getting some impressive line throwing and showcasing some actual competence - makes a nice change, usually as soon as anyone is watching and you're in a tight space is the moment you mess everything up! First day will be spent in the main marina, getting on top of laundry, groceries, and other chores ready for a week of beautiful yet remote adventures down the Canals 🤞
