😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 this morning at 3am a sailboat drifted towards us from the tide shift. We were eddy current and our boat was dancing around to close for comfort. So, we picked up anchor and attempted to reset at approx 330 am. We finally got our achor reset at 4am but we were still dancing around. We then threw our second anchor off the stern which stabilized us. We slept from 430am-7am, woke up and couldn’t get the stern anchor off😵‍💫 We had to cut our losses and ditch it.🥺 We almost let the main anchor slip through our finger tips because we kept getting caught around the boat due to the eddy. We finally moved the line toward the stern to get lose with many attempts! Phew! Once that was lose and we made our way back out the Absecon inlet and into the ocean. We had sporty conditions with gusts up to 35. We used the auto pilot a good amount today after finagaling it for a while. After about 30 miles offshore we were ready to round the inlet. Winds on the nose and the current barely with us we started making 1 knot headway. After 5 mins of this we saw dolphins off our port stern, which boosted morale…for a minute😅😵‍💫 our engine cut out for a second. It then throttled back and then we were making 4.5 knots with the current. Tonight, we dock and get a shower!!! Yay cape may. First day on land since Monday.
