With winds forecast to start dropping today we decided to head down to Soldier Cay where there is some epic reef and a real pretty beach. Well, by the time we expected 10-12kn NW it was still gusting over 20 which would have made Soldier Cay very unpleasant. Took a detour to an area in the lee that isn’t charted as an anchorage but dang if it isn’t one of the most gorgeous places we’ve found in the Bahamas yet. Only two other boats here and we’re all super spread out. Sand bottom, deeper than charted, gorgeous beaches, mangrove dink adventures…Guys, please, 🤐. This spot is for Sea People only. New favorite place in the Berries by far. Got another Mutton while trolling our way in and scoped out a dive spot where, within 15 minutes, I saw lion fish, yellow jack, an intimidating amount of triggers, and the flash of a tail in a hole that may or may not have been a Cubera. Going back tomorrow with a spear and a dive light. NYE spent in a slick calm anchorage with fresh snapper on the grill and mezcal margs!
