I mean… northern lights flickering in the sky and reflecting in the glassy water while phosphorescence splashes over my bow… hard to beat. That gave way to a slow burn sunrise and gradually increasing North winds that alternated between warm and cold gusts as I approached Obstruction. Made sense to add some more miles by going N into East Sound a bit before heading West, as it was blowing pretty good there. Was able to find protection from the N wind along Orcas but finding eddy’s to beat the current was mostly bust. Downwind/current to end it from Neck Pt to the boat. Epic.
