Sometimes sailing on a lake, where SCOOPS currently lives, can get a bit boring. I've been playing with the idea of grander trip with her. But what? Around the Baltic, coast camping? Could be fun. Corsica though. There I could sail AND climb. So that's the dream. Sail my self built tiny 20ft trimaran to Corsica and go climbing. What's exciting is what this dream has meant for my motivation- so many new things to learn on her - motors! Reefs! How could it work? So many things to build! A bow cage for rough weather? Roller furling? New Amas? New jib. So many things to optimize and experiment... What IS actually up with my asymmetric tacking angles and Lee helm? I've started by tackling the antifoul question - I think I'm going to go with a thick layer of epoxy. Also having to rebuild a rotten Aka. I have a used roller furler en route and will experiment with rake angles first before using it. And of course will have to sew a new jib for it. Is it worth having a spinnaker? Will need to build a bowsprit. Very excited!
