Fair winds and following seas for days! Not too shabby. Forgot to start the tracker at the beginning, we started in Bahia Animas and actual miles were 231nm in 45 hours (1D21H). Average speed 5.1kts 🤯 We adjusted the sails back and forth between wing on wing and a deep reach, baked scones, caught a mahi, and begged Tails to go potty on deck (he did eventually but wasn’t happy about it 😂). We did long night watches under a beautifully starry sky and a half moon. We worked out our core muscles trying to keep stationary with the rolling short period waves. The swell wasn’t even that big but the boat was dancing back and forth having a good ol’ time. The last 30 miles the wind quit and we fired up the engine as get-there-itis set in. There never seems to be wind in the channel between islands Carmen and the Baja peninsula. We dropped the hook in the anchorage outside of puerto Escondido around 4am and get things settled as quickly as possible so we could get some deep sleep.
