That. Sucked. For the dogs. For the humans. But we’re all safe. The boat is safe. And we’re safely tucked in back in the marina after an all clear. Thank you so much to S/V Savannah for letting us know when it was safe to come home. If we’re ever close enough to meet in person, Jollydogs owes you a sundowner or three.
Finally figured out wave period - what a game changer for crew morale (especially the pups)!
Berkeley to Half Moon Bay. Fairly calm to no winds, but the sea state was a bit wobbly and the potato patch lived up to the reputation of being a bit bumpy. It was still a good day and we saw many whales. We were at Westpoint harbor (lovely) for nearly two years, it now it’s time to start our more nomadic cruising life.
Westpoint Harbor has been our home for more than a year and a half. It’s been a great place to learn how to live on our boat and get everything settled. We planned to only be here a few weeks, so now it’s time to move on. Today starts a new era in our journey. We are heading to Berkeley for a couple of weeks and then we will continue our way down the coast to new places.
Heading for a rigging inspection to get ready for our next adventures. Unfortunately we hit a scheduling snafu, but had a good time getting out on the water.
A little motor up to SF boat works. Time for some dingy repair.
Gentle little sail in the South Bay. 4-8knt wind didn’t have us moving very quickly, but any day on the water where you don’t break or hit things is a good day.
