I'm an easy going guy that retired from the Navy and loves sailing. I currently live on a 43’ Privilege 435 EZC sailing catamaran. Hopefully I can find someone to sail the world with that wants to enjoy life together! I work from home so I do my best to get outside once the day's over. I'll go biking in the evening or visit friends. On the weekends I try to at least go sailing one day and doing something random the next day. Sailing Experience: I learned to sail when I was around 10, and worked on my skills since then. In 2017 I was finally able to buy my first "sailboat," a Macgregor 26. I quickly found out that the Macgregor wasn't enough of a sailboat so I bought a 1977 Fuji 32 Cutter and re-powered and restored the boat in preparation for sailing to Hawaii. I loved that boat but when I retired from the Navy plans changed and I was able to buy a sailing catamaran (Privilege 435 EZC). I live on it and am preparing it for a world cruise in a couple years. https://www.sailingbliss.life
Beautiful trip up the river and under all the bridges from New York City!
Last time I left Rhode Island and went to Florida I skipped over all of this, but this time, we decided we wanted to see New York by the water! No need to go ashore and get lost in the crowd, but it is beautiful being anchored next to the Statue of Liberty. Today we are going underneath the Brooklyn Bridge and along the northern side of Long Island!
It was a great trip! Just wish there was a little more wind. :-) But can’t complain, I almost finished fixing my air conditioning in the salon, lol.
I’m slowly working my way north to Annapolis or Rhode Island, but I will be in Annapolis for the October boat show. We made it to Fernandina Beach just in time for a huge thunderstorm to pass over us!
It was a beautiful trip! Being reached the first half of each day and then opposite beam reached the last half of each day. Couldn’t ask for more! Marathon is the next stop.
This pelican repeatedly dive bombed my boat to eat fish hiding underneath! It was really cool but kept shaking the boat, lol. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DIURWkARR9m/?igsh=enF0cWpkemp6ZnRv
Made it to Clearwater through a pretty good blow and saw the green flash of a sunset finally!
We set out nice and early so we could get here and enjoy some daylight! It’s beautiful and we’re gonna take the tour tomorrow! It’s amazing how many frigate birds live here!
We tried to stop in the Everglades at Ponce de Leon Bay, but the bugs attacked us and the boat and that made us decide to heave to in the middle of the Gulf on the way to Key West. It was worth it!
It was a great trip! When we left Sarasota, we left Lido Key and went straight out to the Gulf and we touched bottom a few times because of the swells. I definitely won’t go that way again! It got foggy a couple times but we had fun! Boca Grande is beautiful and we ate at Miller’s Dockside Bar and Grill. Definitely gotta try that!
