Left Mayreau (although I think we could stay on that beach for the rest of our lives) and made our way to our last stop in the Grenadines before we head back down to Grenada for a few months. Stopping in Union Island to donate our 3rd cabin mattress, clothes, & other random stuff to the people here that lost everything last year in the hurricane. It’s important when we live in these amazing islands to give back to the community, especially those that have lost everything from these dang hurricanes!! 🙏🏼 Can’t imagine what Union island was like before but it seems like the past few months they’ve really been building it back up
Left Bequia after getting a ton of interior work done on the boat (we cleaned absolutely everything out of every cabinet, cleaned, and reorganized). We were in Bequia sooo much longer than we originally expected, but it was truly one of our favorite islands. Has ton of easy access to so many things. Easy trash drop off (and they recycle), couple of grocery stores close to the dinghy dock, tonsss of restaurants right on the water, & some of the friendliest locals we’ve met in the Caribbean. If you haven’t been, add it to your list!! Now, time to head to the coconut bar for a Hairoun 🥥🍻
The best sailing gets 🤌🏼 Most of the day we were able to cruise at 8-9kts (other than being in the Lee of St Vincent) and caught 4 mahi on the way. Eating good tonight!! Freezer will definitely be full for quite some time. Slowly making our way back down towards Grenada, but in the meantime we’re going to enjoy some of our favorite islands!! 🇻🇨
What a sail… our first ever sailfish on the boat & sailed into the Pitons with a rainbow right over our mooring ball. This may be one of the most beautiful places we’ve had our boat & had to immediately throw the drone up to get the views ⛰️ Excited to hike & explore St Lucia and at this point I’m not sure we’ll ever leave….
This morning we were having trouble with our inverter then our DC power gave out. Struggled getting the anchor up/windlass kept quitting on us, so we have some new projects ahead to figure out what’s going on with our power system. Had to hand steer (because of the power issue) and some areas of 8ft seas heading up passing the corner of Canouan but smoothed out for the 2nd half of the sail Anchor went down just fine when we got here and we have lotssss to check out here from what we’ve heard. If you’ve been drop us some recs!!
Easy hop over to the Tobago cays for a nice lobster dinner 🦞
We had to skip a bunch of islands on the way down to Grenada to make it in time for our flight to the states, so now that we’re back with fresh bottom paint we’re catching up on some islands we missed. Checked out of Carriacou and into Union Island, then planning on island hopping our way back up towards St Lucia (unless a hurricane coming makes us sail back down)
Made it to Grenada for haul out! Getting some work done on our boat while we’re gone at Spice Island Marine and leaving it in great hands!! Staying on the boat on the hard for a night before we fly back to the states. Going to miss the Caribbean but fun things planned in the Bahamas and Florida Keys for the month 👀
Raced SV Traveler (we won… duh) down to carriacou for a few nights hanging out before we head south to haul out. Said bye to some buddy boats heading to the ABC islands, and some heading to Trinidad. Finally visited paradise beach club to paint our afterglow sign for the wall
We originally had plans to slowly island hop down south unless a big storm was coming through since we didn’t have plans to haul out until October. Last minute change of plans, we decided to make a big hop south towards Grenada because we’re flying out to go take a different boat from Florida to the Bahamas! Then spending a few weeks in key west since we haven’t been there since we sailed off. Finally caught up with a bunch of friends in Union Island for 4th of July party on Traveler 🤙🏼🍾🇺🇸
