We absolutely FLEW back to Charlotte Amelie the other week. 18+ kts, consistently. it was really fun and Really FAST!

We raised the main and set the Code D and didn’t touch either until the wind died almost completely the final bit. Fantastic journey- well above 12+ kts for most of it, hitting 14.2 (sustained) for awhile. Albeit the arrival is to a place i’m not crazy about coming back to, but they have a boat part we needed, so it is what it is. just here for a flash, and then off to St. John and then BVI. all is well aboard the beautiful vessel Mirabai.

new Nets, who dis? not sure what this saga would best be titled: -Free Fallin -no good deed goes unpunished… -Samaritans: how good are they? -Cat’s Cradle on the High Seas -held hostage in Bermuda! long story short, our nets finally made it out of Bermudian Customs purgatory, back to FL, over to CO where we toted them down to Grenada ourselves. Rob did a great job with some patch work that held together for the rest of the season- though new holes continued to develop. sadly the tramps were no longer to be trusted. finally, install day(s) came. with a lot of ingenuity (& upper body strength), we got the task done. the lion’s share was Rob’s doing, but our topping lift gave the last bit of oomph it had in it to assist! we couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome, though i still race from one side of the nets to the other; it’ll take a minute to rebuild the trust, lol. as always, Spice Island Marine Services was such an incredible place to execute these projects. we always have the best, most productive time here. cheers to them! and also to Multihull Nets for suppling such a quality product ✨ Hit us up if you want to chat before you do your own install as we found there to be a bit of nuance involved in some places.

The sea provided today. i have a hard time hunting sometimes, but lionfish is a no-guilt trip to the “market.” the lobster? well Rob is from Maine. enough said. to be fair, it was Delicious.

sick sail from Guadaloupe to Antigua today. we tossed up the Main, Jib and Code Zero all at once and we absolutely FLEW, w flat seas to boot. Managed to land some poor man’s Tuna (Atlantic Bonito) as well. Fantastic day.

had amazing wind, however a VERY heavy sea state on the beam (high 20’s, a few 30kts and 3m waves @ 4 second intervals with wind-sheer combers. a few flying fish lost their lives aboard as well. good to be here, even happier to be in one spot for awhile. time to go chase some waterfalls, lol. oh, and yes that’s a Gigantic hole in our nets… it happened on the hard, an hour before we splashed a couple months ago…

goodbye Honda and HELLO Yamaha! i’m a yamaha outboard gal at heart, didn’t take a lot of convincing. Anyone in need of 4-stroke, Honda 20, short shaft? hit me up. it needs a new fuel pump.

After sailing hard for a few days to get to St. Thomas (& sometimes bashing into a proper Big sea state) we’ve arrived to put the finishing touches on this little lady. Unfortunately, though not unsurprising, this anchorage (Vessup) feels like we may as well still be underway… Rockin & rollin. We’ll head elsewhere tomorrow, but we needed dingy access to Bubs for today. What a ride this refit has been. I feel like a parent sending their child off to college: proud, but a bit anxious. I’m so proud of you Bubbles, you’ve been through so much. It’s good to see you back! PS: If anyone’s into bilge scrubbing, hit me up- she can always use a good scour.

what a great trip!!! Defo some bashy parts, but Wow did we fly during others. Excited to finally be here! Only 2 days of work and the rest is just for US, Yipppppeeee!!!! Oh, and we need to pick up a new hand line, a swordfish took ours as a “passage souvenir.”

sigh… after all that work, some cheeky waterside forager stole our tuna as we bled it out behind the boat for a moment. we are typically less messy, but we are currently out of murder juice… tacos will have to wait 😤

We only had one night of Really great sailing… but alas, we chose calm seas over another bash Eastwards. We’re here in T&C for just a flash and it looks like we’ll be sailing the majority of the way to the Caribbean! 💃⛵️🤩

this respite from seemingly Everything, felt poignant tonight. a BIG project is about to come to a close, new Life feels like it’s about to breathe into my being with this letting go… love from what Should be a rolly anchorage, but it is NOT!!
