Hi there! We’re a sailing couple living on the boat and working at sea in-between the sailing! Planning to cross the pond late 2025 (maybe…!) Happy to meet up for beers and cocktails if you see us in the same anchorage so come say hi! We still haven’t managed a raft up yet and it’s on the list of to do’s! Recently started youtubing ap feel free to check us out! (We're still pretty terrible at it but it's good memories!) Happy sailing!
A reluctant departure from a stunning little Cala across the bay ready for the north to kick in tomorrow early doors. Looks like a 60mile run tomorrow starting pre dawn. However, this anchorage is absolutely stunning and possibly the best spot we've stopped in for weeks. This doesn't look like the Mallorca we know...
Great downwind sail from Menorca to Mallorca. Great wind to start, then a little less. Then a depressing last hour motoring in with little wind and big swells. Not ideal! This location though .. utterly stunning! Check out our (very amateur) you tube videos for the trip over and highlights of Menorca!
After a stunning night on the wild north coast of Menorca in a picture perfect setting we headed back to drop off our extra crew member in Cituadella. If you haven't seen the north coast of Menorca it's highly recommended!!
Headed over to Mahon to escape the incoming southerly and to get to the last night of the fiestas... Heavy rain all day made this a somewhat wet sail and our first taste of the end of summer! As we arrived the town cancelled the fiestas due to the incoming even heavier rain... Ideal. However, sailing into Mahon port as the only boat on the water with a gentle following wind was magical.
Two day trip from Sardinia to Menorca. The weather man kept changing his mind so what was supposed to be a following wind trip changed a bit but with a good Spinnaker reach for the first day, little bit of overnight motoring and then a nice reach for the last day we made it in ahead of our guesses time. In true sailing spirit things have a habit of malfunctioning, this time was no exception with failed nav lights, overcharging batteries and a spinnaker halyard shackle coming loose. All in, a fast passage with good weather, oh and some whales, dolphins, sea turtles and the odd flying fish.
Headed up the coast today to avoid the strong winds coming in at 2am from the south. No one wants to get up that early however much you love sailing! Really nice sail with a couple tacks up along the coast and a little bit of engine when the wind dropped at the end. Just in time for sunset. Ideal.
We knew this one would be a little windy but when Aeolus gives you Southeast and you're going Northwest you've gotta take it. Great run for the first 24 hours flying the asymmetric throughout the night then switched to the Genoa as it backed and increased early morning. Things continued to build until arrival when we were down to a handkerchief on the forestay and still doing 8.8 knots surfing. Winds hit 35knots on the corner and maintaining that in the anchorage... Which is lovely.... Overall all though, we'll take the strong down winds over lumpy upwind sailing any day! Cerveza time.
