Little sail from our anchorage to Cape May. Sun’s out and solar panels are too.
After a late night chatting we had a 5am departure for a C&D Canal transit and a nice motor down the Delaware. Crew did a couple rotations including naps, snack, and even tanning breaks. I was in the galley during the canal crossing preparing some bacon egg and cheese on English muffins. Anchored out by Fortescue in hopes we get better conditions and less incidents from crowding than in Cape May
Finally back at it. Engine dropped in, systems check. We are a go
Got the engine to start on one cylinder. Stalls out on two cylinders… Happy Memorial Day weekend.
@xander invited me to crew on his way back to the Bahamas. My first international crossing and a lovely sail back to my ancestral island 🇩🇴. The Gulfstar 37 held up in all conditions and swells thrown at her. Some fish made it onboard, some bowls and bowel fluids made it overboard, but the crew held on and made it safe and sound.
