As a daughter of two sailors I’ve been on the water my whole life. Sailing is such a fascinating thing and I’m happy to share this passion with my family and friends. And of course our boat dog “Pepito”. We like to sing, playing guitar and ukulele. So get in touch if you are around and like to JAM with us! 🎸🪇 2023 we bought a boat located at the Baltic Sea. Now I spend as much time as I can on ViVA. But sometimes heading to other destinations and still join sailing courses at the Mediterranean. There’s still so much left I want (and need) to learn. 🩷⛵️insta-> @captain_karin 🩵⛵️bluesky-> @captain-karin
Had a wonderful morning on the water. The sun was a bit shy but the wind was not 😎 20-25kn. We stayed here for one day and in the clear night sky I saw 9!!! shooting stars 🤩
Wind 10-15kn, S SW, blue sky with some fluffy clouds. Perfect sailing👌🥰 At Marstal you should visit the museum of ship history- what a gem! I was surprised by paintings of the 19th century because many women are pictured steering the boats. 😎💪🏻 ℹ️ my trip ends before the harbour because my smartphone battery died 🙈
Wind!!! Where are you? At least we made a quick stop for swimming and enjoying the calm sunny day. Wind was shy - I am not. At least we sailed a little (very little) bit and had a stunning sunset at the harbour.
Tomorrow starts the training camp for our Opti kids, so we had to sail to another sailing club at “Ammersee” in bavaria. Nice mountain view, enough wind from NE and a sundown. I tracked from the motorboat called “Sponge Bob”.
Sailed from Poros to Varis Bay under both engine and genoa sail, basking in sunny skies and a comfortable 22°C breeze. Along the way, we were graced by three turtles and some elusive dolphins. 🐬🐢💕 Today, I bid farewell to the boat, leaving Markus to continue the adventure with rotating crew members. Fair winds and following seas, SV ATOMIC! 🇬🇷☀️😘 ⛵️good girl!
☀️ Weather: Basically perfect – 22°C (felt like 24) and just that kind of wind to feel like we knew what we should do: 👉🏻 Start the engine. The breeze was a steady 11 mph—just enough to keep my sea hair instagram-worthy. No rain, no stress, and exactly 3% clouds. We left Dokos fueled by coffee and sunscreen. Arrived in Poros and went with the high speed dinghy to town, because we had to do some groceries. Measured 20kn. Wheeee! At the harbour we met sailors from Hungary 🇭🇺! Always nice to have a small chat with people. I swam in 20°C water to look after the anchor because Markus promised it would be “refreshing.” ⚓️ My motto of the day: Dinghy fast, drink beer , and pretend I know port from starboard.
Sailing from Limenas Geraka to a stunning anchorage in Dokos under perfect skies and great speed — couldn’t ask for more! At anchor, we met some friendly Swedish sailors who shared a golden tip: beware of rats climbing aboard via the landlines overnight. A tip that surely earns them a beer with us tonight! 🐀⛵🍻
