Happy New Years from Hope Town, Abaco!

Left before the coffee was brewed. Drifted back in light airs to make the tide to get in the harbour. Happy New Years Eve everyone!

Sailed off the anchor at MOW to Great Guana around 815am. Had a grabber and nipper then high tailed it out of there around 2pm to Archers Cay for a calmer anchorage. ⛵️⚓️

Quick sail over to Man-O-War to get out of the Harbour.

Let the spinnaker out of the bag. Nice sail with all the canvas flying at one stage. Really nice to be back in Hope Town. 🍻

Started as a beat to wind, but a perfectly timed wind shift lead to a close reach to green turtle. Nice to have come calmer weather. Fleets and beer behind the boat.

Rain and sun on our mangrove adventure. Saw lots of turtles.

Great day. Ripped south. Over 7 the entire way! Wanted to get down to GTC and clear customs, but she was not here today. Classic island time. Time for a beer! Anyone nearby? Come by for a cold one, we are anchored off the town. 🍻

At midnight we stopped at Great Sale and slept until the morning. The brunt of the wind passed. We cracked on a double reefed main and reefed jib and beat our way around Great Sale. After clearing the top of the island we had a great close reach to Allen’s Pensacola. Great day with 0 hours added to the engine. Went ashore and found my old nameplate on the tree.

Sailing into the sunrise. Great start to a Bahamas crossing.

In a word, quick. Ran before a cold frount. Had south winds almost the entire way. Only an hour before Great Sale did the wind switch and blow really hard. Good trip.

Race around the river. Place placement to follow.

Launched Gravina after missing last season. Motored down river and raced around the river. Great to put the boat though her paces. Next stop Bahamas in December.

Found myself going through the log books, so made a track of all the voyages 2015-2022.
