Tordarock/RETIRED Boat in SAN FRANCISCO 2019

Kihei, Maui, Hawaii

Aloha. Retired to Maui with 3 wild and Crazy Shiba dogs, Jiki, Rosie and her daughter Zori born on Maui. Love sailing! Our monohull named Todaroch is 30 ft Gulf Pilot House we retired her near San Francisco Ballena Isle Marina in 2019. We retired here on Leeward side of South Maui and the closest boat ramp to us is Kihei boat ramp, Makena Landing south of Wailea and Ma’alea Marina north of Kihei. Now Lahaina harbor is out of commission until it is cleared and rebuilt. It will not be open to new boats however we hear. Mala Harbor north of old Lahaina town in for resident’s and a few charters but anchoring out is possible. There is a small local boat landing in Kahana area used by locals to rescue West Maui Community after fires, all heros! Anchoring out around Kihei is possible but not really easy at all due to surfs and currents. Many boats run aground or break off their moorings here in the high seas and winds. Be safe. Talk to locals before attempting to anchor out here and no marinas slips are available unless you know someone. It’s a huge issue. On the windward side of Island is the major Kahului Harbor where cruise ships come and big ship deliveries. Please do not anchor near coral reefs or in sacred places such as Honulua Bay. Kuleana, please ask first. Mahalo
