I enjoy every minute of life aboard my custom sailboat Wasatch. Spent the last number of years cruising the PNW. Planning on heading to warmer waters in the summer of 2025.
Patos Island delivers big rewards for those who navigate its challenges. Active Cove has ripping currents and a tight anchorage, so time your arrival with care. But once ashore, you’ll find a peaceful hike to the historic lighthouse, wildflowers, and sweeping sea views. Highlights: • Beautiful but exposed anchorage • Strong currents at tide change • Remote and scenic trail Watch the short we created here: https://youtube.com/shorts/J0ePfBY9zDM?si=Ryn8admXCaKMRdoB
We sailed to Cypress Island in Washington’s San Juan Islands this spring—and had the hiking trails completely to ourselves! The quiet anchorage offered open mooring balls and blooming wildflowers like the dawn lily and calypso orchid. A peaceful escape into nature, perfect for spring sailors, hikers, and wildflower lovers. Great wind to get us there out of the North at 10-15 knots. The West Coast of Vancouver Island was stunning, and the wildlife encounters, including coastal wolves, whales, and even two puffins flying by, were highlights for sure. The wind, waves, currents, and tides were definitely a challenge, but we made it!
