We were supposed to be heading out of San Francisco and down to Los Angeles/Long Beach for a fun 3 day or so cruise. However, the wind on the nose and confused sea state made for hellish waves that left crew and our (normally jolly) dogs less than pleased. Everything seemed so tranquil until we got up to the Golden Gate. Once we popped out into the Potato Patch, we had waves that had us catching air - and the captain manually steering to try to keep us safe and as comfortable as possible under conditions. We turned around and managed to get a delightful anchorage spot in a mostly empty Aquatic Park Cove. Now to reminisce about how relatively calm the sail down from Seattle was last September, and figure out what to do about heading south from here in April.
