It was smooth sailing. We got a few extra hands on deck, and everyone got to hoist the sails and keep their hands busy. Then there was some good wind and sleet/small hail and a lot of light rain. π§ So it was super fun to anchor (in the dark) π and rustle up some grub (Aussie for whipping up a meal fast). Our friends from France joined us in their sailing boat. Dinner was steak tar tar and spaghetti with local sausages, fennel, and lots of little local goodies... organic veggies and herbs picked from our community garden projects we are part of (Permaby & ByAuk) and a lot of good French wine to wash it all down with. Then there was dessert... we hardly had the room for it, but the captain insisted the Napoleon Cake (Norwegian custard, butter, ouff pastry sweet treat) is a must try, and everyone was glad they did. Then we had some Norwegian licorice milk chocolate with salt! (DON'T knock it 'till you've tried it because it was good!). Everyone slept super well under a clear, stary sky with the small glow of city lights in the background across the fjords.β¨οΈ Life is good. Couldn't ask for a better Saturday night sailing in September in the Western fjords of Norway π³π΄ππ
