No bueno. Beneteau style washer did a fair bit of chewing into the prop. I’m guessing the key wasn’t a solid fit and the slop allowed the washer to eventually work its way through the prop. It began unthreading itself enough for the key to slide out. Probably wouldn’t have happened if the washer was properly bent down into the key hole. Fantastic. Think I should carve a new divot into the prop to lock in the new washer? When I get hauled in Guatemala I’ll likely just drill a couple of holes through the nut and shaft and toss in some cotter pins.
