Crossing to the Bahamas

In all our excitement about having some kind of weather window, we may have jumped the gun by a few hours. We started by beating into 5ft seas and 20-25 knots. We left too early. The wind was supposed to die down by 7, but didn’t start falling off until 10. It was a rough couple of hours, but once we were in the Gulf Stream the waves became more manageable. We weren’t able to make a good angle to the wind until it shifted more South by midday and later fell off to about 10 knots on a broad reach. After all that, we made it! We’re officially in the turquoise waters of the Bahamas and ready for the next adventure.
