Crewed for a few years in the Mediterranean and the Azores. This included a citizen science expedition to Greenland. Learning to be the captain of my own ship on the Great Lakes. The hope is to take her to Nova Scotia and beyond.
Long remote stretch of the lake with an Alaska like feel
Sea state glass. Nice fishing and kayaking. It’s also like and inland lake being surrounded by so many islands
There’s a fantastic farmer’s market here in summers on Tuesday’s with a great veggie selection even pre harvest season. Wednesdays live music. The wharf provides easy access to this as well as the exploration-worthy Houghton side social district. I do not like pickled eggs and Hamms. I do not like them, Sam-I-Am. Its bouncy! If there is indeed a no wake zone it isn’t observed by small craft. Then again, Michigan is home to motor city so I suppose this is a part of the ying and yang of every being we should try and celebrate. $1 hot showers south of the ferry terminal near the skate park.
