Don’t even know where to begin with describing this journey. But first of all we just wanna say that we’ve arrived safe and sound to French Polynesia, our home for the next 1,5 years!! We spend the first weeks after arriving, taking in every sensation of land after so many days at sea. The sounds. The smells. A steady bed to sleep in. Fresh food and veggies. Clean clothes. Alone time. Walks. Friends. Catching up with our families at home. Everything our souls were craving. We’ve found it hard to step back into online work, emails, social media and everything we’ve been cut off for, for so long. We’ve been tired after having had 15-35 knots wind for the entire journey, except for a total of 25 hours of no wind and motoring. We’ve been tired after we spend the first 9 days battling strong headwinds and the last 16 days rolling in waves downwind. But honestly, we’ve been absolutely blessed on this crossing in every way. Blessed to have shared this experience with a group of badass friends. Blessed not to be stuck in dead wind zones. Blessed not to have any major damages to our boat. But most importantly - blessed to finally again getting the feeling of making time stand still, while all the days melted together in one big cloud of blue. My god we had missed it.. There’s so many memories for us to share from this crossing and one day an entire film, that we’ve been working our asses off to film during the last two months. We’re still taking time to take in all the memories and reflect upon everything that’s happened. By now we’ve almost sailed to the other side of the world and to the place where all our dreams of this life truly formed inside of us, four years ago.. Thank you Pacific Ocean for 25 days of the perfect combination of piecefulness and challenges. It’s absolutely surreal to us, but WE DID IT! Lots of love and relief, from Sis & Leo♥︎

Motoring in no wind, watching whales and catching fish.. 🎣 Looks like we’re gonna have a lobster feast tonight ♡

A perfect shakedown cruise and first sail in the Pacific Ocean!🐳 Lots of wind, sun, breaching whales and flying rays on the horizon. And as always the inevitable patches of trash.. We’re spending the next month around Las Perlas islands, while prepping the boat for our Pacific crossing💞

We’ve finished the trip through the Panama Canal and have finally dropped anchor in the Pacific Ocean. This was an incredible experience, luckily very smooth and the entire trip was much easier than anticipated. We’ve got around 6 weeks of cruising the Pacific side of Panama, and then we’re off for our biggest ocean crossing to French Polynesia! So many milestones lately.🥹💞

We arrived to Shelter Bay Marina! A very dramatic welcoming in lightening storms, pouring rain and a ton of container ships headed for the canal. Now it’s time for a two week haul out before we’re heading for the Pacific Ocean.💞🐳

We arrived to Bocas del Toro! We ended up changing the route a bit along the way to shelter along the coast of mainland, as we were fighting a 2,5 knot current and light winds. But we were blessed with a huuuuge pod of dolphins, stunning sunsets such incredible stars that we all spend an evening on deck while motoring through calm seas. Although it was a slow trip, it was everything we could’ve wished for. ⋆ִ ࣪𖤐☽

… but who’s counting?🥲 Even though it’s been a year now since we left Europe behind, we thought our very first ocean crossing deserved a place in our logbook here. We had everything from no wind, 35 knots wind, sun, rain and endless good times. We had to venture pretty far south as we got caught in a massive dead wind zone, all while the fuel pump for our engine decided to die.. In total we covered a distance of 2942 nautical miles. Now a year later, we’re only weeks away from embarking on our second ocean crossing; from Panama to French Polynesia. We honestly can’t wait to spend another four weeks with nothing but ocean on the horizon.🌊
