Golfo di Carbonara, Villasimius, Sardinia, Italy
Jul 15, 2025 - Jul 15, 2025
We’re moving to Villasimius, a sheltered bay about five miles away, or at least that’s what we thought at the time. We set off around 8:00 AM, while the sea is still flat and mirror-like. Thomas joins us for the trip. After about an hour, we drop anchor in the bay. I dive almost immediately into the crystal-clear blue water. With temperatures climbing above 30 degrees in recent weeks, any kind of refreshment is more than welcome. Greg hops on Thomas’s bike to do some grocery shopping, while I tidy up the boat a bit. Around 5:00 PM, Thomas joins us for an early dinner. He is heading to Sicily shortly after. Goodbyes are never fun, but knowing we will likely meet again in Greece makes it a bit easier. We are staying in Sardinia for now, waiting for a package that still needs to be delivered. We spend one night anchored here and plan to move to the other side of the bay the next day. The night was restless because the swell made sleeping difficult. It is a strange feeling when your entire home keeps rocking back and forth, and that is not even mentioning the endless clattering of things shifting and falling in the cupboards.
