Just a short sail to the other side as they are forecasting some easterlies. *** This anchorage was just stunning! The golden beach, lush green mountains, clear blue water and pure tranquillity instantly relaxed me. We were able to moor the dinghy safely in the nearby harbour. Our first task was to get some food from a large supermarket about five kilometres away. It felt great to stretch our legs after being on the boat for so long. The next day there was a market in Villasimius selling fresh fruit, vegetables and local delicacies such as cheese and salami. We returned to the boat full of goodies. What a luxury! We went for a swim and cleaned the algae-covered hull. The fish seemed to enjoy our activity and gathered around us. Sunday started with a walk to a nearby salt lake where we spotted some flamingos in the distance. We also noticed a launderette in the harbour, so we used it in the afternoon and loaded a machine. While waiting for the laundry to finish, we relaxed on the beach with a book, drinks and a snack, taking in the surroundings. Back on board we hung the washing out to dry. There was a light breeze and plenty of sun, perfect for quick drying. As the sun went down, I sat on deck with Nelly and Finn and reflected on a wonderful day. On Monday, as we were getting ready to leave, we spotted a large dolphin at our anchorage. Our neighbour was swimming and didn't notice the dolphin approaching. Just in time he climbed back onto his boat, oblivious to the creature below. We enjoyed the dolphin's company before hoisting our anchor and moving on to the next bay.
