We are in a good spot here, despite the negative reviews. No swell, it's calm, and there are no other boats. Okay, the view of the industrial harbor might be less appealing, but if you look the other way, you only see beach and palm trees. The first evening, a swimmer approaches us with a great interest in our sailing life. "How do you do it?", "Isn't it difficult?", and "Have you been living on your boat for two years?" are some of the questions we answer. The next day, we take the dinghy. After a short ride to the small commercial harbor next to us and a walk through the park, we find ourselves in the center of Alicante. It's quite a beautiful city. We wander around in the scorching heat, browse some shops, and marvel at the beautiful buildings around us. After visiting the city, we go to the supermarket to get something tasty to eat. By sunset, Manuel swims over and brings us lemons from his own garden. We invite him on board and have a chat. He is very curious about the sailing life. He finds it a fun experience to sit on a boat and see 'his beach' from a different perspective. The next day, we lift the anchor and leave Alicante behind.
