We can’t stress how naturally beautiful Jupiter, Florida is…. However, the inlet is super shoal’y and we kissed the ground after much trip prep. Was just light sand and we slid thru without any worries. Tons of bridges .. so much waiting.. ..picturesque scene over all

Today we left one of our favorite ports so far, Melbourne.. such amazing people there and honestly could see ourselves returning in spring for extended stay. Hit a little squall today. Was fun and although completely soaked, we had a nice two hour run at about 7.5kts!! Made ft pierce bridge just in time

We sailed all day going about 7kts!!! Couldn’t hv asked for any better conditions. Was really an incredible day! I remembered being afraid of white caps in the past and now we welcome them/love going fast. The thrill we get from having the wind make our boat surf is an amazing feeling!!!

Today was an excellent sail. Had the sails up on a beam, close to hull speed for hours. So many dolphins.. each minute brought us further and further away from Daytona Beach 🤣.. water today faded from a murky brown to almost turquoise.. almost. Great day to be outside

Straight lines. Lots of gorgeous homes. A few d*ckhead oncoming motorboats with low levels of class ripping wake in front of us. That was about all the excitement. Maybe if we weren’t sailors we might try the same thing 🤣.. all around a great day on our quest into the heat!

We are stunned by how beautiful this little town is.. breathtaking.. been living under a rock.. how the hell have we never been here before? All we can say..

Making our way down the sunny state.. saw a cool hovercraft and on steady lookout for Manatees. Loving the moderate temperature!! Great parking job at marina, although we wish we were offshore.. wait on you, weather….

We’re super proud of this trip. First time offshore without additional crew. Just us 3 (and the cat).. learned a ton and will definitely be more prepared for our next run.. enjoyed a half moon for a good amount of the evening and absolute pitch darkness for hours once the moon set. Was surreal. Might have been an alien spotting or two along the way and even a shooting star. All we can say is things were different offshore and after hours lol.. Thankful for our dedicated first mate for noticing a massive unlit and also unaccounted for buoy floating amongst the darkness. Could have been a disaster.. time to recharge and plot our next run.

Cool little town. Strange pronunciation. Otherwise super pleasant people and really cool tea shop

Next stop Beaufort, SC.. hoping to catch a nice weather window and bypass Georgia entirely.. aiming for the heat!

Isle of palms, although crazy, is very doable with proper planning.. we were able to time the tide pretty well and crossed the most difficult (treacherous in the moment maybe?) part seeing no less than 8’ of depth. Our young skipper in training Antonio has been so resilient with the cold, always finding positivity in each day.. can’t be more proud. decided to take a break at a very cool resort style marina in Charleston and give him a day off filled with rest and relaxation (relaxation ? Yea right lol).. even went swimming!

Please excuse us inexperienced New Yorkers but we had no idea it’s this cold in South Carolina! With our cold weather gear neatly tucked away in a NYC closet, we are left with layering our fall jackets and dollar general’s finest foul gear accessories…. Hoping. .Praying.. wishing.. sending sun signals.. anything for warmer weather please!

Cool little passage. Lots of eerie fog, twisty bends and swampy trees. We imagine this stretch is what the dismal swamp is like, only much deeper! Settled in Georgetown for the night

After a very refreshing thanksgiving spent aboard SV Andiamo with our new friend Pierre, we departed with great confidence at the helm! We’re super thankful to have stumbled upon such a great marina following our engine issue. Zimmermans, an employee owned marina, was quick to diagnose our raw water strainer blockage and had us on our way within one day. Great folks and will definitely be stopping back again! Lastly, our first ever “galley lasagna” wasn’t terrible..

Happy thanksgiving from Holden Beach, NC! Enjoyed mild weather for a change and our first ever lasagna aboard SV Andiamo! Immensely thankful …

Good news and bad news today. Had a smokey/burning style smell happening from engine area .. after checking everything over, nothing was evident.. decided to pull up to next marina and have a tech take a look just to be safe. We’re super fortunate to have stumbled upon Zimmermans .. an employee owned full service marina located in Holden Beach, NC. At first glance they said it was fine and couldn’t find anything wrong. Ended up staying the night.. Next morning ran engine a bit before leaving and had more smoke. Tech came back promptly .. Good news is that it was simply a bad hose leading to our raw water strainer which caused a slight leak in suction. Fortunately the heat exchange was still being supplied water, just not at the level it wanted. Ended up replacing the hoses and upgrading the raw water strainer as well. Staying at marina another day to test run engine but seems we will be back on track in the morning.

Today was our shortest passage yet but probably the most complicated .. kept the RPMs low while fighting current and dodging obstructions.. we were met with several shoaling areas (random sand bombs in shallow water that cause you to ‘run aground’ or get buried/hit bottom) and were super fortunate to have passed by undetected.. hoping for weather to form more in our favor and continue outside towards the heat

We barely made our passage through Onslow Bridge .. currents were against us most of the trip. Made it through with 3 minutes to spare before the bridge was shut down for rest of week for construction. Landed mid afternoon is a gorgeous little beach town, Wrightsville NC.. not sure if we were just starving but the pizza here at Vito’s was on point and so was the sunset. Will spend more time here on our trip north this spring for sure!

Plans changed today. Originally wanted to spend a few days in Beaufort, NC as per many recommendations.. after further due diligence, we decided to bypass altogether and shoot for the Onslow Bridge - which we learned closes Monday at 7am - Thursday evening for construction.. instead of getting jammed up waiting locally or motoring offshore with very low winds, we decided to b-line it as far as we could to make it either tonight or first thing in the morning. The sun set early and we decided to refuel/hang for the night in Swansboro, NC with plans to head out around 4/4:30am. Wish we had more time in this super enchanting town !! Lastly, we were “attacked” by a family of dolphins this morning. They circled our vessel and put on quite the show! Such amazing creatures

Were able to sail nearly at hull speed for about half of our passage. Made up for the current and motoring the narrow canals. Gorgeous sun shining all day and very favorable winds. Couldn’t ask for much better!

Peaceful little passage down Alligator River finally settling in Belhaven, NC. Our plan is to stay here for a few days while the intense winds blow by, bunkering down, working a little, more school for Tarzan, and some much desired r&r.. Highly recommend Grand Manor Marina! Great accommodations including a brand new pickleball court and complimentary golf carts to travel to town/provision (Tarzan’s favorite)..

Coinjock was wonderful. Everything about it.. Nothing lasts. What happened after heading out was insane Couldn’t find protection. Strong winds. Huge waves. Shallow waters. Sun setting. Wasn’t fun but we anchored at best possible spot, secured our vessel, remained calm and most importantly, learned our lesson. Tomorrow is a new day

Today was a slow one.. Many draw bridges and a lock. It’s Veterans Day and everything should have been operating on schedule more in our favor but that wasn’t the case. Nonetheless, we made it work, met a bunch of cool people, and most importantly made it to dinner on time in Coinjock for their 32oz each famous Prime Rib! Presently we have the meat sweats and are passing out hoping for a forgiving morning :) Will take any luck we can get..

Super foggy and damp start. Waited 3 hours before departing. Motored slow out of the channel and headed south. Not much wind today. More of a motor fest. Saw a legit pirate ship. Had the sails out half way down and were cruising 6+kts for a bit. As we entered Norfolk naval area we didn’t know to keep our distance from the ships and were confronted a few times by local coast guard. So far the most traffic we have faced. Several tugs, barges, tons of police ripping back and forth, a few jet skis and several cargo ships (freighters) Ended up catching anchor at Hospital Anchorage which was recommended by a few friends and couldn’t have asked for a better end to a long day! The crab balls at “Fish and Slips” helped a bit too, we won’t lie 🤣

After yesterday’s defeat, we rested up and planned to hit the seas full force.. only problem is that with a sailboat, you need wind…. Poseidon of the Chesapeake or whoever you want to blame definitely has a sense of humor offering basically zero winds just a day after absolutely ravaging us.. nonetheless we motored one step closer, found yet another calm little anchorage and met one of our neighbors again from Annapolis!

Our morning started with high hopes of continuing our surf down the Chesapeake landing in Norfolk late evening… sunrise was postcard material.. Poseidon of the Norfolk area wasn’t quite ready for Tarzan, however, and after being smacked around left, right, forward, etc we quickly surrendered up the Potomac River to process things…. There we were surprisingly greeted by a cute little town called Wynne and met some truly wonderful people. Southern hospitality at its finest! As we digest our fantastic dinner from Salt Waterfront Kitchen, we’re plotting our revenge trip against the seas tomorrow. Let’s see what happens..

Was well worth it posting up in Annapolis for a few days until the wind was in our favor. Ended up surfing almost entirely down the Chesapeake mostly at our back but finished on a beam reach! Fueled up at the local fuel pump and met some super friendly locals. We’re definitely entering the south! Will return and check out restaurants one day

Our first offshore passage! The ocean welcomed us with fantastic weather and a strong wind at our back from Sandy Hook to just south of Atlantic City. Sailed at hull speed at least 50% of the trip!We were greeted by several families of dolphins and even saw a whale breach! We learned about commercial traffic in Delaware bay and rounded off the trip right as the sun set over Annapolis
