With so much misinformation floating around, and so many SeaPeople users being regular Bahamas 🇧🇸 boaters. We wanted to get out some real facts about the big changes made to foreign boating permits and fees. Does it change whether or not you are going back this year? SeaPeople co-founder Logan Rowell has had long chats with the Bahamas Minister of Tourism in recent weeks. About the balance of covering expenses the government carriers due to boaters’ presence (ex: dealing with trash, much of which is packaging from foreign bought food and drinks) vs the positive economic impact of boaters’ presence in the Islands. All considering the known needs for better fisheries management and patrol. Nothing is ever permanent, but one thing is certain: your voice can create change. So let us know how you’re feeling.
